State Rep. Mark Tisdel today encouraged Greater Rochester residents to donate blood ahead of Independence Day weekend.
“A shortage has left health care providers in desperate need of all blood types for emergencies and scheduled procedures, and I encourage everyone to donate blood and save lives,” said Tisdel, of Rochester Hills. “Donations are especially important before the eventful, travel-filled holiday weekend.”
Blood donation centers like the American Red Cross are reporting a major blood shortage. The supply is insufficient to meet increasing hospital needs. People can schedule a donation with the Red Cross or another local donor center. Red Cross appointments can be reserved by visiting RedCrossBlood.org/Give or by calling 1-800-733-2767.
Tisdel is a regular donor at blood drives in Rochester Hills.
Rep. Tisdel comments on House passage Wednesday of the state’s budget for the 2022 Fiscal Year, saying the plan puts a record amount into the state’s rainy day fund, while redeploying money to help- improve local roads.
State Rep. Mark Tisdel today invited Greater Rochester residents to join him for office hours on Monday, Sept. 27.
Tisdel, of Rochester Hills, will host the meeting in Conference Room A at the Rochester Hills Public Library, 500 Olde Towne Road in Rochester, between 6 and 8 p.m.
