Rep. Tisdel urges Greater Rochester residents to donate blood ahead of holiday weekend
RELEASE|July 1, 2021
Contact: Mark Tisdel

State Rep. Mark Tisdel today encouraged Greater Rochester residents to donate blood ahead of Independence Day weekend.

“A shortage has left health care providers in desperate need of all blood types for emergencies and scheduled procedures, and I encourage everyone to donate blood and save lives,” said Tisdel, of Rochester Hills. “Donations are especially important before the eventful, travel-filled holiday weekend.”

Blood donation centers like the American Red Cross are reporting a major blood shortage. The supply is insufficient to meet increasing hospital needs. People can schedule a donation with the Red Cross or another local donor center. Red Cross appointments can be reserved by visiting RedCrossBlood.org/Give or by calling 1-800-733-2767.

Tisdel is a regular donor at blood drives in Rochester Hills.
