With many Michigan hunting seasons underway and others starting soon, state Rep. Mike Harris today shared a handy guide to season dates, along with resources where hunters can find helpful information about licenses and regulations.

“The leaves are turning orange, and many Michiganders are putting on our orange and camo gear to go hunting,” said Harris, R-Waterford. “Before heading out, it’s important for everyone to get the right license, know the rules to follow, and find good hunting grounds, and there are so many informative resources that are easily accessible online. With this information, hunters like me will be ready to enjoy Michigan’s natural resources — and hopefully bag some game.”

Harris encouraged hunters to review state handbooks about hunting regulations for different kinds of game, which are available online at Michigan.gov/DNR/managing-resources/laws/regulations.

The Department of Natural Resources also provides a mobile app where hunters can purchase and access their hunting licenses. The app, which also contains the regulation handbooks and other resources, can be downloaded from Google Play or the Apple App Store from Michigan.gov/DNR/things-to-do/hunting/huntfishmi. The DNR website, Michigan.gov/DNR, offers additional important information, including a map of public lands where people can hunt.

An infographic listing the currently scheduled hunting season dates is above.
