Rep. Sarah Lightner of Springport this week joined the state House in advancing several measures that will help guide Michiganders through the COVID-19 pandemic – including extended benefits to help the unemployed and better protections and quality of life provisions for nursing home residents.
Rep. Sarah Lightner’s plan to hold state government accountable with improved oversight and transparency in the procurement process has been signed into Michigan law.
Rep. Sarah Lightner – a member of the Michigan House Appropriations Committee – helped lead the Legislature’s approval of a new state budget overcoming the financial challenges posed by COVID-19.
“This bipartisan agreement provides an avenue for local communities, parents, and the medical community to collaborate on the safe operation of our schools,” said Lightner, of Springport. “I am pleased to support a plan that emphasizes local control while providing certainty, safety and stable funding for schools.”
